There's nothing wrong with tracing an image to get the proportions correct but keep drawing freehand and learn anatomy as you do more tracings. This is how you get better at adjusting the art once the tracing is done. Your knowledge of proportion and perspective will allow you to fix things that the camera flattens. Good luck.

I actually have problems drawing the Figure, thats why I bought a Light table. Now I can do what you are showing but on a horizontal or slanted table rather than on a vertical screen.
